Uig Lodge is built in the grounds of the Uig Hotel overlooking Loch Snizort and Uig bay, and enjoys views out towards the Outer Hebrides.

Uig itself is built around the bay and its pier is used by the ferries that go back and forward to the Harris and North Uist, local fishing boats and boat trips to see puffins, sea eagles and whales.

Within the village there’s Uig pottery and the Isle of Skye brewery, both are well worth a visit. The road behind the Lodge takes you up to the Fairy Glen a mystical landscape that has been the backdrop of a number of films including Stardust and the BFG.

Heading around the peninsula there’s so much to see including the spectacular rock formations of the Quiraing, Kilt Rock waterfalls and the Old Man of Storr. The road takes you back to the main town of Portree where there are giftshops, cafes and restaurants. From there you can head west to Dunvegan castle, Coral Beach and Neist point or south to the Fairy Pools, Talisker distillery and the Cuillin mountains.

There is much to do and see on Skye so take advantage of the local bus tours, wildlife guides and boat trips. Further information can be found at Isleofskye.com.
